Plenty of people don’t know what they want to do when they grow up, but even as a kid, I knew I enjoyed working in the dirt, molding the landscape into something beyond imagination.

As a teen, I mowed lawns in the small town of Peru, and in my twenties, I turned those small lawn mowing jobs into a real business. But work never really felt like work, because I’ve always considered the smell of fresh cut grass and the clean lines of a well-mowed lawn to be some of life's simplest yet greatest pleasures.

In my mid-twenties, I headed out to Montana in search of opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. There, I honed my heavy machinery skills, took on million-dollar landscaping jobs, and led a crew of dozens of skilled workers. As a foreman, I was fortunate enough to work with exceptionally talented landscapers, stoneworkers, woodworkers, and more to create truly extraordinary landscapes.

Eventually, I decided to return home to the North Country to start my own business, eager to share the experience and passion I’d gained with New York and Vermont. That’s when EverGreen Landscaping & Excavation began.
